According to metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, as a precautionary measure, EMPD members are on high alert and monitoring the ongoing protest in order to ensure peace and order should the need arise.

“Residents who had scheduled appointments for today but cannot honour those appointments due to the ongoing demonstrations will be contacted by their nearest testing centres, advising them on a rescheduled appointment,” said Dlamini.
