The station is in the top 40 priority stations in Gauteng.
“It is a fact that police will never be able to fight crime alone, and it is for that reason that we are partners in policing,” said Andrew Mosesi, chairperson of Ekurhuleni North Sub-District Community Police Board.
“We have established an elite team of community safety patrollers called Siyabangena CPF. This elite team is made up of experienced volunteer patrollers from other stations who form Siyabangena Ekurhuleni North team.”
Mosesi said the team of 15 members is deployed in and around Kempton Park CBD.
“They are the eyes and ears on the ground. They look at preventing crimes, such as car break-ins, car theft, pick-pocketing, cellphone theft, ATM card scammers, drug dealing, general safety and security of the elderly and children in the central business district,” explained Mosesi.
“Schoolchildren found wondering during schools hours while in uniform are told to leave the area, to go home or to school. When there are no suspicious activities, the team engages in cleaning in the CBD where possible.
“I thank God to be able to lead such a committed, dedicated and focused team of volunteers. They have indeed improved community safety in the CBD.
