The first leg will take place on April 30 at Huntersfield Stadium in Katlehong and will consist of a 5km development race and a 1.6km street mile, which will be the main event targeting development athletes between the ages of 13 to 19 years old.
“The series is named after the late prominent athlete and CGA development coach Zithulele Sinqe, who was a firm believer that sport has the power to bring people out of poverty,” said Zintle Mokoka, organiser.
The second leg of the series will be hosted on August 6 at Ace Ntsoelengoe Stadium in Mohlakeng, with the third leg hosted on October 8 at Orlando East Community Hall in Orlando.
“This series is in support of developing more athletes in the mile distance who will ultimately take part at the Provincial Mile Championships which will be incorporated to Thembisa Street Mile race on October 30 in Thembisa,” said Mokoka.
