Youth cleans up community

For hygenic reasons, the youth urged the community to keep their environment clean.

Thembisa youth is advocating for a cleaner, safer and healthier environment through their 'Don’t lose it, Bin it' projects.
The initiative by Dipalesa Foundation, in partnership with Mkhabela Obedience Foundation (MOF), aims to advocate for a cleaner Thembisa.
On May 7, the partnering organisations started the clean-up at Ibazelo Park and moved to Mvelaphanda Primary School on Seaparankwe Street.
Palesa Mailula, Dipalesa Foundation founder, urged the community to keep their environment clean for hygienic purposes.
“Illegal dumping poses a danger to children and animals. These dumping spots become rodent breeding grounds,” said Mailula.
“Those with back rooms are encouraged to get a second dustbin to accommodate their weekly waste.
“As we continue to educate the community about having a cleaner environment, we also ask for assistance with refuse bags, gloves, sanitisers, face masks and cleaning material,” said Mailula.
