Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha, Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, said the complainant arrived at the station on the day of the arrest to report a domestic violence incident.

“She told officers her partner had threatened her with the firearm. While she was still reporting what had transpired to the cops, the suspect showed up at the client service centre.
“Captain Mathibe and his team, with sector members, accompanied them to the location where they were staying to look for the firearm. They searched the house but were unable to locate the gun,” said Ralidzivha.

Mathibe searched the premises outside and found the weapon hidden between the bricks with its serial number filed off.

“Three live rounds of ammunition were discovered in the handgun. When questioned about the handgun license, the suspect failed to show any and he was arrested.”
