Zwane talks about business and success

Author of ‘Conquering the Poverty of the Mind’ explains concept of book.

From a teenage hustler to owning one of the biggest upcoming franchises in the country, Rita Zwane shared her journey to success at a Castle Lager #ItsWithin campaign launch.

The event was held at one of her franchises, Imbizo Shisanyama, at the Mall of Thembisa on May 25.

“I like it when people ask me about starting a business because I get to tell them it needs hard work and commitment,” said Zwane.

“I was 27 when I started Imbizo Shisanyama, and now we are celebrating its 25th anniversary. It’s been a journey of 25 years and the journey has been inspired by celebrating our African cultures, heritage, and identity.”

The author and businesswoman said the franchise plans on expanding.

“You need to understand the culture of the place you’re going to because shisaynama is about celebrating our African culture and heritage,” said Zwane.

Her book Conquering the Poverty of the Mind is aimed at entrepreneurs.

“I wrote the book because there were many young people coming to me seeking inspiration and mentorship,” she said.

In her book, she shared her struggles and the small achievements she enjoyed when building her business.

She said the book also focuses on the mind, for this is where one can win or lose a battle.
