Koopman sends Ngqubuka to the canvas in Kempton Park battle

Koopman showed his prowess from the very beginning of the big fight against his rival.

Keanu Koopman made his professional boxing debut in style, comfortably beating Bongani Ngqubuka of Orlando.

The boxers battled in their welterweight contest on the undercard of the Winner Takes All Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on June 11.

Koopman, a South African amateur champion, showed his prowess from the start sending Ngqubuka to the canvas early in the first round.

While Ngqubuka got up, the referee stopped the fight giving the young fighter a dream debut.

Like his older brother, South African junior middleweight and IBF All Africa champion, Shervantaigh Koopman, Keanu looks set to have a bright future in the pro ranks.
