The expo, which served as a great example of the saying ‘by the community for the community’, was held on June 11.

Mordecai Ndlovu, Ward 91 committee sector representative for economic development and city planning, said the expo served to encourage the community to use local parks.

“We also want to advance the need for cleaner and safer parks that are truly owned by the community members. This is an ongoing project to revitalise the community of Ward 91.”

Members at the KeM Gin stall were pleased to be part of the Norkem Buy and Sell Expo held at the local park on James Wright Avenue.

The expo featured stalls.

“We hope to do more to revitalise parks,” said Ndlovu.

“The expo aimed to drive the local economy and entrepreneurial awareness.

“The plans include our intention to invite strategic stakeholders like NYDA, Seda, Sanlam, Cell C and other interested big organisations to assist in building local business support.”
