The first celebration, which aimed to honor the spirit of Youth Day, took place on June 16 at Summore Supermarket, Pick N Pay, Thembisa.

Cathrine Mathebe, BFC Founder said the main aim was to celebrate their member’s birthdays.

“We divided the calendar into four. Every three months we celebrate member’s birthdays.

“We combined all their birthdays to a one day event,” said Mathebe.

“All those who had their birthdays between April and June they celebrated together. We going to do a similar event in September for those between the months of July and September.”

Local artists were given the opportunity to showcase their talents and market themselves as brands.

Ikanyeng Sebela, musician, from Winnie Mandela, performed songs from his latest album titled Jeremani.

“My music is available in all online music stores. I sing in different indigenous languages including TshiVenda, Sepedi, IsiZulu and English,” said Sebela.
