Ivory Park family affected by fire appeal to public for help

“Losing a home is unpleasant since it is something you've built up over many years and lost in a matter of hours."

After their home in Khumalo Street, Ivory Park, was destroyed by a fire on June 26, a family of four has made an urgent request for donations.

The Timane family survived the fire. Two adults and two children were rescued through the window.

The fire destroyed their house and they lost everything. The causes and circumstances of the fire are unknown.

According to the father, Chicco Ntimane, his wife woke him up when she noticed smoke filling the house.

“There was smoke everywhere and the fire was coming from the sides of the doors.

“I had to break down the door.

“I can’t even tell where the fire started.

“God’s kindness allowed me to leave the house with my family.

“With the assistance of my two friends, I was able to remove my wife, my son, who is nine years old, and my 2-year-old daughter from the bedroom window.

As the sole provider, I’m lost and unsure of what to do. My family lacks a roof over their heads. “I feel bad for them.

“I’m asking my Thembisa family to help with anything they can, such as food, blankets, beds, and toiletries, to support a fellow family member in need.”
