Pothole repair campaign hits Kempton Park

“The campaign has gained momentum, due to the financial injection of R285-million for pothole repairs."

The City of Ekurhuleni MMC for Roads and Stormwater, Ald Alco Ngobese, said 65% of the potholes backlog in the city have been cleared since the inception of the CoE pothole repair campaign.

Ngobese visited Kempton Park on July 8 when the campaign reached Kempton streets to patch potholes.

The campaign is part of the back-to-basics programme aimed at improving service delivery in the city.

“So far, about 5 200m2 of potholes have been patched. We currently have personnel on the ground attending to potholes across the city,” said Ngobese.

“The campaign has gained momentum, due to the financial injection of R285-million for pothole repairs.

“We have identified the roads the team will target and urge residents to report potholes in their areas,” Ngobese said.

Ngobese requested motorist to be patient when they encounter city officials working on the roads to patch potholes.
