The campaign was aimed at creating awareness of drug abuse and domestic violence.

According to Ivory Park SAPS spokesperson, Captain Ben Matimulane, the officers visited the communities of ClayVille Ext 45 and Kaalfontein Ext 22 to speak to the people about these issues.

“The Ivory Park policing precinct is rife with drug abuse and GBV and as part of the campaign, the community was encouraged to report GBV and to provide tip-offs to the police about drug dealers in their neighbourhoods,” said Matimulane.

He said that this can be done on an anonymous basis and that callers are not obliged to reveal their identities.

Both GBV and tip-offs about drugs or even crime, in general, can be reported at the nearest police station or police emergency number, which is 08600 10111.
