Six gunmen rob security guards in Midrand

Suspects entered the premises through a hole in the fence and took cellphones and wallets.

Six gunmen robbed security guards of their belongings at business premises in Midrand on July 27.

According to Rabie Ridge SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi, at about 22:00 the guards were on duty in Acasia Close when a truck stopped in front of the premises.

“One of the guards entered the guardhouse where the rest of his colleagues were to warn them. The guard was followed by two unknown men armed with firearms,” said Moremi.

Moremi said the suspects instructed them to lie on the floor and they took cellphones and wallets.

“The suspects entered the premises through a hole in the fence. They were wearing masks,” said Moremi.
