The learners served hot vegetable soup and bread at the shelter which provides accommodation to the homeless.

According to the founder and principal, Johann Small, the school embarked on a couple of charity drives with MESD and other organisations.

He said this aligns with the school’s motto.

“The school’s motto is freedom and service and one of the key things we want to develop in our children is a sense of service. We want to teach them that when you give you are rewarded,” said Small.

Small said learners are mandated to initiate social development projects every term.

“Projects like the soup kitchen are spearheaded by our prefects and seniors at the school,” said Small.

The learners have thus far donated to the local SPCA along with blankets to MES as well as toiletry shoe box donations to a local orphanage.
