Man shot and killed in his car in Birch Acres

“There was a bullet hole in the driver's window and the male had suffered multiple bullet wounds to his upper body," Sgt Barbara-Anne Ferreira.

A 38-year-old man was found dead in his vehicle in Birch Acres on July 25.

Sergeant Barbara-Anne Ferreira, spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, said the man was found by police officers.

“Norkem Park SAPS members were patrolling the area when they noticed a silver grey Hyundai, with its headlights on, parked in Isimuku Street,” said Ferreira.

“The man was found in the driver’s seat. There was a bullet hole in the driver’s window and the male had suffered multiple bullet wounds to his upper body.”

Ferreira said that 13 cartridges were also found at the scene.

The man was certified dead by paramedics.

“The motive for the murder is not known. A cellphone, wallet and laptop were also found on the scene.

“The body was taken to Germiston Mortuary and a case of murder is under investigation.
