Local poet is the voice of the homeless
Digasho's way of writing provides a different approach on how to view homeless people by the rest of the society.

It aims to inform readers about the importance of compassion and tough love in providing for and assisting the homeless.
Digasho’s writing concentrates on the relationships between community members and the homeless.
“My ability to make sense of the world is aided by the written word. I compose poetry because it energises me and allows me to connect with the imaginary world I don’t live in. I breathe, talk and live poetry.
These are only a few of the reasons I compose poetry and why I don’t find it difficult to put ideas, emotions or situations into words.
“We live in an era when community members ridicule people on the streets.
“They call them names and judge them for the lifestyle they are living, not knowing the story behind nor the circumstances that pushed them to be where they are today.”

The poet reminded readers that people have a different upbringing.
“We retaliate differently. My motivation is to encourage people in the community to be kind and loving.
“Instead of relating, let us advocate and instead of talking, let us act upon desensitised issues that have become a taboo in our society and households,” said Digasho.
