They decided to begin a period drive as a result.

On September 2, Miss Subliminal supplied sanitary pads and gave the Siphesisihle-based home care recipients food and drinks as part of their efforts to give back to the community.

According to Tebogo Papa, the founder, the initiative aims to encourage and support women and girls so that their periods don’t stand in the way of them reaching their full potential.

“One of the causes of this is the stigma attached to menstruation.

“Along with providing sanitary pads, we inform the girls about proper menstrual hygiene and practices.

“This effort aims to educate young people, reduce stigma, and keep girls in school.

“We want to change perceptions by conducting outreach programmes in schools.

“The school children will learn new facts and share them with their family and friends. The effective integration of menstruation education in young girls will be learned by parents, educators, and mentors,” said Papa.
