Get to know Thembisa’s home-based care

The organisation seeks to improve the quality of life for the community's most vulnerable individuals.

Mamete’s home-based care has committed its efforts to acting as the safety net in many facets of life for the underprivileged residents of Thembisa and fostering social change.

The organisation is based in Kopanong section.

The foundation is committed to encouraging a healthy lifestyle and sharing the advantages with its members, individuals, and communities.

It also assists youngsters by providing them with training and skills to prepare them for the workforce.

The founder, Linkie Thabyane, said the project was motivated to help those who were unable to obtain a certain amenity because of a lack of resources.

“I’ve always aspired to contribute to the advancement of my community. My goal is to eradicate poverty and illiteracy in ekasi.

I want to contribute to ensure that one day nobody goes to bed hungry and everyone has something to wear.

“I was so inspired to give back to the community that I began attending my short courses, volunteered at Arebaokeng Hospice at Tembisa Hospital to gain experience and know about operating a successful NPO.

“After receiving my merits, I registered my NPO.”
