The donation formed part of Capello Birchleigh North’s women’s programme for 2022, which included gender-based violence-free zones.
The donation will assist female learners at the school.
Judith Manamike, teacher and coordinator of welfare at Norkem Park High School, said the school was happy to receive the much-needed donation for the young girls.
“We have over 950 girls in our school and some come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The sanitary pads will also assist those that might have ‘accidents’ while at school,” said Manamike.
“We truly are grateful and know that this will go a long way in assisting our girls. Previously, some of the children would not come to school while on their menstrual cycle due to not having sanitary pads and this would not only impact their confidence but also their school work.
“Now they can come to school without any disturbances.

“We encourage and welcome more of such donations.
“We would also appreciate toiletries such as toothpaste, bath soap and roll-on deodorants as some of our learners’ struggle regarding hygiene. This weighs heavily on their confidence and performance in school.”
