Parts of M1 have been blocked by 1 000 SAMWU members

The workers of the City of Joburg are demanding that they be paid what they deserve.

Parts of the M1 North and South have been blocked by the South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) in a protest action that has over 1000 people partaking.

The Joburg Metrobus has warned commuters that the bus routes may be negatively impacted.

These are the areas that are affected:

Cosatu said that the municipal workers in the City of Johannesburg are demanding that they be paid decently. They are gathering at the office of the executive Mayor, Dr Mpho Phalatse.
