Oversight visits held at local schools

The purpose of the inspection was to assess the state of school readiness in Ekurhuleni for the new academic year.

On Tuesday, the DA’s Gauteng Shadow MEC for Education, Khume Ramulifho MPL, and spokesperson for education, Sergio dos Santos MPL, conducted an oversight inspection at Laerskool Birchleigh and Hoërskool Birchleigh.

Also included in the day’s visits were Phomolong Secondary School and Olifantsfontein Primary School.

The inspection aimed to assess the state of school readiness in Ekurhuleni for the new academic year.

Gauteng schools were in high demand for placements, particularly for Grades One and Eight learners.

Ramulifho and Dos Santos ensured the schools had enough furniture, stationery, and sufficient mobile classrooms needed for a conducive learning environment.
