Police take part in school readiness campaign at Thembisa schools

Words of encouragement and crime awareness in Thembisa primary schools.

Tembisa South Police Station’s social crime prevention, communications officers, Powa, and pastor Shabalala visited several Thembisa primary schools.

“The visit reminded young minds that even as children, they can be arrested for crimes they commit. We also advised them how to act to avoid becoming involved in gangs and bullying others,” said Sergeant Matlamela.

Shabalala shared the word of God with the learners and led them in prayer.

He encouraged them not to be self-conscious and to believe anything is possible. He told them that he was a graduate of the institution.

He said he values his instructors and credited them for making him the person he is today.

Social workers from the Department of Social Development warned learners about the risks of substance abuse and how it can ruin their future.

Powa advised the learners on the value of loving oneself, speaking up when faced with difficulties, and including their parents in their daily activities.
