Edleen Street gets a CFCI facelift

Volunteers jumped into action and cut out the damaged parts of the road before cleaning out the holes and filling them again.

Last Saturday, CFCI Welfare showed up in Edleen in full force to rejuvenate a deteriorated section of the road.
Potholes littered almost every part of the 50m section of road.

Volunteers jumped into action and cut out the damaged parts of the road before cleaning out the holes and filling them again.

Last Saturday, the CFCI Welfare showed up in Edleen to rejuvenate a deteriorated section of the road.

Soon, community members noticed something good was happening and that the CFCI volunteers in their red T-shirts were out and about again.

Volunteers removed weeds, swept the road and cleaned the fountain and traffic circle areas.

Many black bags were filled with grass and taken to a local transfer station.

One business owner provided bags of ice to keep sodas cool, while another donated arm sleeves to protect the team from the sun.

Motorists hooted, others stopped and gave the team water, and one lady even dropped off a box of ice cream.
