He opted to write in this language not because Xitsonga is his native tongue, but rather because he wants the Tsonga people to understand the value of language and culture and to be encouraged to be proud and not feel inferior to other cultures.
“Since I was a young child, I’ve wanted to be a writer, and fortunately my family, friends, and everyone around me have inspired me to keep pursuing that dream.
“The inspiration kept me going to a point of writing a book in my native language. As a Tsonga author, I will do whatever it takes to preserve and protect the value of my language.
“In my honest opinion, a love of the language, a skill for wordplay, and a suitable expression are crucial when it comes to writing a book.
“I published my first book, Timbuva Ta Vutomi, in 2021.
The book is about dealing with obstacles in life. The goal of the book is to teach readers in a lyrical way.

“I was surprised to learn how challenging it is to stay on track with the writing for my first book. It was a constant effort to achieve the daily and weekly goals I set for myself.
