Ekurhuleni Speaker of Council reinstated

The party took legal action after Dhlamini was voted out by a motion of no confidence earlier this month.

Raymond Dhlamini was reinstated as the council speaker for Ekurhuleni after the Johannesburg High Court ruled in favour of the Democratic Alliance.

The party took legal action after Dhlamini was voted out by a motion of no confidence earlier this month.

He was replaced temporarily by Councillor Nthabiseng Tshivhenga of the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF).

The court found that Dhlamini’s removal from office was illegal.

Dhlamini said he is happy with the court’s ruling and ready to get back to work.

“We were right to go to court,” said Dhlamini.
