Rapid Response Services comprising Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol members arrested 130 suspects and recovered 49 vehicles and four firearms between February 10 and 16.

Officers participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle checkpoints, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng, which led to 73 arrests for serious crimes.
These include murder, assault GBH, rape, shoplifting, theft, possession of stolen property, robbery, housebreaking, kidnapping and malicious property damage.
There were 49 hijacked and stolen motor vehicles recovered and 11 arrests for the possession of these vehicles.
Four unlicensed firearms were recovered accompanying another four arrests.
In further policing, 42 arrests were made for the possession of and dealing in drugs.
Heroine, dagga, Mandrax, crystal methamphetamine and cocaine were amongst others confiscated in these separate incidents.

Investigations into all cases will continue. The suspects will be appearing in magistrate’s courts across Gauteng.
