Biker fatally shot in Ivory Park

Ivory Parks SAPS asking locals for assistance locating a suspect.

Following a motorcyclist’s death and the theft of his bike in Ivory Park on February 17, the Ivory Park SAPS are asking the local community for help in locating the suspects.

According to Captain Ben Matimulane, the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, the incident happened in Ext 2, Ivory Park neighbourhood known as Thutukani informal settlement.

Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, has condemned the fatal attack and is appealing to the community adjacent to where the crime took place to tip off the police.

“Chances are someone may have seen something.

“We appeal to people who possess motorcycles to let us know their situation.

“This will enable us to ascertain whether their motorcycles may have been stolen from somewhere.

“For the record, motorcycles seem to be in demand by the criminals,” said Ngcobo.

A case of murder and hijacking has been opened at the Ivory Park SAPS.
