The suspect was first arrested in January and will again appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court on February 22 to face 38 counts of rape committed over four years in the Thembisa, Thembisa South, Benoni and Putfontein policing precincts.
“The suspect was arrested by the Benoni Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) detectives after an elaborate investigation using in-house expertise such as DNA linking and the modus operandi analysis.
He was also identified during an identity parade.
“The vehicle used during the commission of these crimes and his licensed firearm were confiscated too.

“The evidence is there for all to see that we are dealing with someone, had he not been caught, hellbent on causing trauma and untold pain to women wherever he went,” said Sithole.
She thanked the Benoni FCS detectives and the investigating officer for how he is handling the case. She is confident the outcome will be a lengthy jail sentence for the suspect.
