Those who are unable to afford to enrol in a recognised higher institution are given the chance to learn invaluable lessons about life and business from him.

Since 2014, Maseko has been teaching community members for free. His private registered company has produced over 13 000 graduates, with the most recent graduation ceremony hosting 55 graduates, in Tlamatlama.

Maseko has a bachelor’s degree in arts, a bachelor’s degree in education with honors, and a postgraduate certificate in education (formally referred to as Teachers Higher Diploma).

Some of the free skills training programmes on offer include early childhood development, office administration, computer literacy, human resource management, community health care worker and home-based care, call centre operations, project management, media studies in radio broadcasting, cashier and petrol attendant.

Maseko states that education has a significant impact on the quality of a person’s life.

“When I first began teaching, all I could think about was how I would educate and influence my students.

“As I’ve grown older and more wise, I’ve come to see that education transcends.

“When I first started out, all I could think about was how I was going to educate and impact my learners.

“I’ve learned that education extends beyond the four walls of the classroom, and that kids in our area can benefit from having a free instructor who can teach them free skills.

“This is the rationale for my desire to reform education.

“By motivating individuals who are unable to attend school, I hope to encourage other instructors in my community to share my enthusiasm for teaching,” said Maseko.
