“We wish to express gratitude to the taxi association for rendering a helping hand to law enforcement,” Thepa said.

Residents are reminded that the Ekurhuleni Bus Service will not operate today.

“In the interest of safety for our passengers, staff and property, the City has decided to suspend operations today,” said spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni, Zweli Dlamini.

“Passengers are encouraged to make use of alternative transport during this time.”
