Local NPO helps destitute community members

Charity efforts were focused on Kempton Park, Benoni and Boksburg which are home to the largest homeless populations in Ekurhuleni.

CFCI Welfare, an NPO with PBO status, has for many years taken on the responsibility of feeding the poor and the hungry in and around the city.

Recently dedicated volunteers of CFCI Welfare lend their hands and hearts to help feed over 250 people living in family shelters, shelters for men and homes for abused women.

In four of the old aged homes volunteers even cleaned some of the rooms the elderly reside in.

Charity efforts were focused on Kempton Park, Benoni and Boksburg which are home to the largest homeless populations in Ekurhuleni.

Teams also spent some quality time with the residents at Angel Wings, MES, Mercy Haven and Pauline Davis centres.

In addition, volunteers visited a home for babies and children with gift packs.

To crown the day off, CFCI Welfare donated a jungle gym and play equipment to Manger Care.

The team spoiled residents with personal grooming sessions, provided them with a meal and encouraged them with a message of hope and goodwill.

CFCI volunteers also recently catered to 500 in the elderly community.
