CPF patroller shot and killed in hijacking

A detailed police investigation will follow the murder of the Norkem Park CPF patroller last night in Kempton Park West.

A Norkem Park CPF patroller was shot and killed in a hijacking in Skut Street last night.

According to standby district spokesperson, Warrant Officer Barbara-Anne Ferreira the victim and a friend were sitting in a grey VW Golf when they were approached by two men.

“A firearm was point at the victim and car keys and cell phones were demanded.”

“One of the men shot the male victim in the head before fleeing the scene with the car,” said Ferreira.

Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

“The deceased was taken to Germiston Mortuary.”

A case of murder and carjacking was opened.

Ferreira said the suspects are unknown at this stage and a detailed police investigation will follow.
