Parents join hands with law enforcement against drugs

Sector manager, Warrant Officer Barbara-Anne Ferreira addressed parents on drugs and how to spot the signs if their children are using drugs.

SAPS, EMPD and parents from Birchleigh High School met on April 24.

Sector manager Warrant Officer Barbara-Anne Ferreira addressed parents on drugs and how to spot the signs if their children are using drugs.

“Bullying and theft among learners remain a big concern for the police. We wanted to address parents about that too,” she said.

The school’s deputy principal, Ms Lourens and the police assured parents that they will support learners with problems but there will be zero tolerance towards misbehaviour.

“The parents, school and law enforcement will stand together to keep our children safe because they all have the right to education, equality and dignity.

“There is no place in school for violence, drug abuse, sexual harassment and criminal activities,” said Ferreira.
