A completely developed fetus was discovered by the police.

According to Constable Patricia Mgijima, spokesperson for the Tembisa SAPS, someone gathering recyclables saw the black plastic bag with the fetus inside.
“Paramedics declared the fetus was dead and was taken to Germiston Mortuary.”
Mgijimi discussed the risks of illegal abortion with the group of about 30 individuals who had assembled at the crime scene.
“People have different reasons that make them resort to abortion, but it has to be done at a legal institution.

When someone decides they no longer want a child, it is preferable to leave the baby somewhere secure where it can be found.
“This gives them a chance to survive, rather than tossing the child in the dumps,” advised Mgijima.
The public was urged to pay attention to any information that could result in the capture of the perpetrator.
Community members were warned not to take the law into their own hands if the suspect is found.
