Hoërskool Kempton Park declared safe after email bomb threat

An email sent to the school this morning stated that three bombs had been placed on the property.

Hoërskool Kempton Park has been declared safe following a bomb scare this morning.

Normal schooling was allowed to continue after the SAPS’ bomb squad searched and cleared the property.

Earlier, learners and staff at the school were evacuated to the school field to allow for police investigations.

According to SAPS Ekurhuleni district spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela the school’s receptionist received an email this morning stating that there were three bombs in the school which “had been set to go off” .

She said the suspect was unknown at this stage.

“The school has been declared safe and normal activities could continue.”
