A suspected hijacker was shot and killed on Krombek Street in Birch Acres.

According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Barbara-Anne Ferreira the suspect’s intended victim was waiting for a friend in his VW Polo when a silver BMW stopped next to him on January 9.

“Two men exited the BMW and pointed a firearm at the victim.

“The victim locked his car doors and pulled out his own firearm. He then shot at the suspects from his vehicle,” she said.

Ferreira said one of the suspects jumped back into the BMW and fled the scene while the second fell to the ground.
