Bouwer abandons bail application, case postponed to May

Bouwer's defense requested that the case be postponed to May 15 for further investigations.

Murder-accused, Anton Bouwer abandoned his application for bail in the Kempton Regional Court this morning, March 5.

Bouwer’s defense requested a postponement to May 15 for further investigation.

The request was unopposed by the state.

Bouwer was remanded in custody until his next appearance.

Bouwer stands accused of killing his parents Bettie (73) and Robert (78) Bouwer on January 22 at their house in Bredell.

He is also accused of killing his stepdaughter Natasha Bouwer (22) and domestic worker Elizabeth Mahlangu (56) at a house in Fairleads, Benoni, on the same day.

Bouwer will additionally face one charge of attempted murder for the shooting of his wife, Adelle.
