The Pre-Primary school had a complete makeover in 2023 and learners now enjoy a brand new playground with artificial grass and functional equipment. The playground is not only fun and playful, but also adds to the development of the learners’ gross motor skills.
Parents are often worried about their child’s English proficiency before they start their schooling career. “We will teach your child to speak English” said the principal of the pre-primary school, Mrs Amanda Kotze. “Parents will be surprised how quickly their children will learn to speak and read English when in the right environment”, added Kotze. The school also offers aftercare until 18:00 to learners from Grade RR to Grade 3 that includes homework support, a structured and playfull programme as well as a light lunch.
New Principal for TKLA Primary School
A new Primary School Principal has been appointed for 2024. Ms Enicah Busisiwe Kunene has 19 years of experience in the field of education and believes in the value of lifelong learning. According to Ms. Kunene her goal for 2024 is to create an inclusive and empowering learning environment that fosters academic excellence, personal growth and social development.
The class of 2023 from Tersia King Learning Academy made history to achieve a 100% pass rate. According to Dr D. J. Venter, Executive Principal of the school, TKLA is not just a school, but an experience. “We continuously strive to ensure that our learners are afforded every opportunity for further enrichment beyond the standard curriculum” added Dr Venter.
The head girl of 2023, Gugulethu Masilela obtained 7 distinctions. According to Gugulethu, the key is to work smart and to start working hard from day one. Gugulethu added that she could not have done it without the support of her teachers and fellow learners.
