New Engen Evergreens station opens its doors

Evergreens partnered with Engen for the opening of a filling station to ensure the community’s safety and contribute towards solving the unemployment rate.

Evergreens and Engen marked the grand opening of the new Engen Evergreens filling station on October 1, with staff from both companies attending the celebration.

The new service station aims to provide a safe, convenient stop for customers and residents while creating much-needed local jobs.

Evergreens founder Liza Pereira welcomed the new staff and thanked everyone who contributed to the project’s success. She expressed optimism about the partnership, describing it as the start of a long and successful relationship.

“Engen is intentional about forming partnerships that create growth beyond the present moment,” said Kwela.

“We prioritise people first, then the planet, and profits follow as a result of being responsible towards both. Each Engen operation typically employs around 38 staff members, making a meaningful impact on unemployment.”

Kwela added that Engen plans to expand its collaboration with Evergreens, developing additional sites to benefit local communities further.

Evergreens general manager Jonathan Hobkirk said the new station reflects the company’s mission to serve the community and drive local development.

“We wanted to create a safe place for commuters to stop and refuel. This station offers a one-stop shop for customers and the community, providing an essential service while creating employment opportunities. Our goal is to be a stable business that gives back and contributes to our community.”

Newly appointed staff were introduced to the partners during the event, symbolising the shared commitment to safety, service, and community upliftment.
