Suspect caught in Thembisa with unlicensed firearm
It is believed that one of the suspects attempted to pass a firearm to another man when they were spotted by the EMPD officers.
The Northern Region Social Crime Prevention Unit of the EMPD was on patrol in Thembisa on October 22 when officers noticed a blue VW hatchback blocking the road at the intersection of Mhlandlela and Zikana streets at the Ndullweni section.

It is believed that one of the suspects attempted to pass a firearm to another man when they were spotted by the EMPD officers.
The members apprehended one man and found a firearm magazine in his possession, while the other suspect ran away with the firearm and the keys to the vehicle.
The motor vehicle was taken to the EMPD pound for further investigation.
The suspect, who was detained at Thembisa police station and charged with the possession of an unlicensed part of the firearm, will appear in Thembisa Magistrates Court.
