Four armed suspects target laptops in Phomolong
“One suspect was shot and subsequently arrested before he was transported to Tembisa Hospital.”
One suspect was arrested and taken to Thembisa Hospital on April 5 following a botched armed robbery at the Phomolong Library on Pallsmore Street.

According to a statement by SAPS Ekurhuleni district communications officer, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the victim was delivering laptops at the library when he was surprised by four armed men who robbed him of 17 laptops at gunpoint.
“Police members, who were patrolling around the area, responded to the scene. The suspects shot at the officers and the police retaliated,” said Sekgobela.
“One suspect was shot and subsequently arrested before he was transported to Tembisa Hospital.”
Investigations revealed that the shot suspect had a toy gun.

“One community member was also shot and injured during the shootout.
He was taken to Tembisa Hospital for treatment. Tracing of three escaped suspects will continue,” said Sekgobela.
