According to SAPS communication officer Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, the suspect alleged he was driving his white Toyota Etios as an Uber when two unknown men approached him, pointed a firearm at him and hijacked his car.

“After reporting the case, we noticed that the same car was involved in a crash on Corner and Monument roads.

“Police officers went with the man to the accident scene.

“While at the scene, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the same accident recognised the suspect as the driver of that car he alleged was hijacked.
