Three nabbed for tampering with essential infrastructure in Kempton
The suspects were arrested and charged with tampering with essential infrastructure and detained at the Kempton Park Police Station.
Officers from the EMPD Cable Theft Unit arrested three men on Wednesday last week for tampering with essential infrastructure in Kempton Park.

As officers were patrolling, they approached the corner of Director and Green avenues, where they noticed a group of people in a trench, suspected to be digging for copper cables.
The officers strategically positioned themselves around the group and intercepted them.
Tools used by the suspects, including a shovel, pick and a knife, were confiscated by the officers.
The suspects were arrested and charged with tampering with essential infrastructure and detained at the Kempton Park Police Station.

The three will appear at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
