Operation Okae Molao comes to Kempton Park

“We also held a crime awareness campaign with vagrants at the corner of North Rand Road and Casuarina Avenue."

Kempton Park SAPS officers and patrollers, under the command of the acting station commander Colonel Motsatsi Lesomo, embarked on Operation Okae Molao in Kempton Park on June 8.

The spokesperson for the Kempton Park SAPS, Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego said they had a roadblock at the corner of Kempton Road and Greyilla Street, where they searched 88 vehicles and 142 people.

“We also held a crime awareness campaign with vagrants at the corner of North Rand Road and Casuarina Avenue.

“The police distributed pamphlets and requested the vagrants to help curb crimes affecting sector three,” said Ditshego.

She added these vagrants also shared information with the police in connection with crimes in the area.

“The operation yielded positive results. We arrested one suspect for possession and dealing in dagga and another for public indecency,” said Ditshego.
