Hundreds of suspects nabbed in Ekurhuleni
In Thembisa, officers received information regarding individuals wanted by the police about a house robbery in Rabie Ridge in July.
Efforts to curb crime in the community continue to yield successful outcomes.
Recently, officers from the SAPS, EMPD, crime prevention wardens and home affairs joined forces for Operation Shanela across Ekurhuleni.
The team arrested 204 suspects during the operation for committing various offences, recovered three unlicensed firearms and shut down three illegal liquor outlets.

In Thembisa, officers received information regarding individuals wanted by the police about a house robbery in Rabie Ridge in July.
Together with members of Thembisa detectives, the team spotted the suspects driving a Toyota Corolla, used during the commission of a crime.
The operational team arrested two suspects aged 32 and 40 for possession of two unlicensed pistols with serial numbers filed off. The officers impounded the Toyota Corolla the men were driving as it was used while committing a crime.
Preliminary investigations revealed the suspects are involved in house robberies and car hijackings, especially in the Ekurhuleni district.

Also in Thembisa Crime Prevention Wardens were on patrol when they noticed a Toyota Tazz being driven with its lights off.
The vehicle was stopped and when wardens searched the driver, they found a 357 Magnum revolver with six live rounds.
The driver of the vehicle failed to produce the license for the firearm and was arrested.
