Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court hands man 18 years for murder of ex-wife
Andries told the community he killed his ex-wife and buried her in a shallow grave at Erasmus farm.
Phokela Andries was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment by the Kempton Park Magistrates Court for the kidnapping and murder of his ex-wife.
The incident occurred on December 5 last year along the R25 in Witfontein.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, the deceased, Mokoena Roselinah Cebile, disappeared the November 30, 2023 stating that she was going to the shops.

She never returned home.
Ditshego said the deceased’s daughter mobilised the community to help locate her mom and she went to the Kempton Park Police Station to report her missing.
“Andries who was the last person she was seen with was questioned but he did not reply.”
“Andries finally admitted that he killed his ex-wife and buried her in a shallow grave at Erasmus Farm,” added Ditshego.
Ditshego said after a long trial the accused was sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment and he was declared unfit to possess a firearm under section 103 of the Firearm Act.
