Police arrest 123 suspects and recover several firearms
The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s courts across Gauteng.

The Rapid Response Services, comprising the Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol members throughout Gauteng arrested 123 suspects, recovering 30 motor vehicles and six firearms between January 31 and February 6.
The officers participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle checkpoints, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng, leading to 42 arrests for serious crimes including assault common and GBH, possession of suspected stolen property, malicious damage to property, contravention of protection order, theft, domestic violence, fraud, reckless and negligent driving, assault on police officer, shoplifting, common robbery, housebreaking, illegal trading of wildlife, possession of illicit cigarettes, possession of precious metals, sexual assault, illegal immigrants, trespassing, murder and armed robbery.

Officers recovered 30 hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered with 14 arrests for the possession of these vehicles six unlicensed firearms were recovered accompanying six arrests.
In further policing, officers arrested 61 people for the possession of and dealing in drugs.
Heroin, dagga, cocaine, Mandrax and crystal methamphetamine were among those confiscated in these separate incidents.
Investigation continues into all cases.
The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s courts across Gauteng.
