EMPD arrests 28-year-old in Kempton Park for drug dealing

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Birch Acres, Kempton Park, after the EMPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers found him in possession of dagga.

The arrest took place on Wednesday, June 11, during routine law enforcement duties conducted by the EMPD’s specialised services officers.

According to EMPD, the officers noticed a suspicious-looking man wearing a black hoodie and carrying a black plastic grocery bag while walking along Ebony Street.

Officers stopped to question him and conducted a search.

Inside the plastic bag, officers discovered dagga weighing approximately 0.510 grams, with an estimated street value of R1 500. They also found R50 in cash.

The suspect was immediately handcuffed and taken to the Norkem Park Police Station where he was detained. The dagga and cash were booked at the same station.

He faces charges of dealing in illicit substances and is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
