Gauteng police make drug-related arrest in Ekurhuleni

Gauteng members working with the Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested a 35-year-old man and recovered over 200 bags of dagga.

Gauteng PES Flexi members working from Johannesburg Flying Squad arrested one suspect and recovered a large quantity of dagga.

On September 30, at around 14:00, members were patrolling highways around Boksburg when they noticed a suspicious silver grey Toyota Etios travelling at high speed.

They managed to pull the vehicle over on the N12 East next to Boksburg.

The 35-year-old driver was immediately arrested when members found a wrapped bag of dagga in the vehicle.

The alert members further found a key with a tag naming a storage unit, including the unit number, in Boksburg North.

The suspect then led the members to the storage unit where they recovered a further 100 and 122 bags of dagga wrapped in tape and plastic.

He was detained at Boksburg North SAPS while the dagga was handed in as an exhibit.

Investigations in this case are ongoing. The suspect will appear in the Boksburg North Magistrate’s Court facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
