Between October 29 and 30, the EMPD By-law and Compliance Unit conducted operations targeting illegal hawkers in the Kempton Park and Boksburg CBDs.

According to City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the operation followed several complaints from motorists about hawkers trading illegally along specific roads, posing a danger to both road users and the traders themselves.

Targeted areas included Pretoria Road, Essex Street and Witfontein in Kempton Park, as well as Porcelain Road in Clayville, Brewery Street in Isando, and Denne Road in Boksburg.
